The FSESCI program offers classes that follow the curriculum provided in the Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspectors Manual (Tier I, and Tier II). The classes will help develop a better knowledge of how to properly manage the impacts from solids (TSS), turbidity (NTUs), and nutrients (i.e., nitrogen and phosphorus) and other surface water contaminates. Florida’s stormwater program is technology based, using performance standards and BMP design criteria.
Successful student will receive a certificate and wallet card from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
This is the ONLINE version of the training course.
Course comes with a copy of the Florida Erosion Control Manual.
Travel charges may apply based on zip code.
The Water Restoration Program is currently conducting the Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector (FSESCI) Certification Program.
The purpose of this program is to better educate installers and inspectors in selecting, installing, layering, and maintaining the correct Best Management Practices (BMPs). We also train and qualify our inspectors to properly inspect her BMPs for use during and after construction to minimize the effects of uncontrolled erosion and deposition on site.
Tampa Bay Training is one of the long term trainers in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspectors in the State. In fact, Peter Cavalli, is Instructor #15. We are authorized to provide Onsite and Online Training and are also allowed to provide PDH/CEU within the guidelines of the program. Feel free to contact us at service@trainingbypete.com to discuss further or the schedule training.
A certificate of completion will be provided to the successful student from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).

The use of innovative techniques and specifically designed erosion control systems are encouraged in order to prevent or limit erosion and sedimentation problems during and after land disturbance and construction activities.
The Tier I class provides an introduction to stormwater and erosion and sedimentation control, and teaches BMP installers and operators how to properly select, install, and maintain BMPs. This class is a pre-requisite to the Tier II class.
The Tier II class provides additional details on information introduced in the Tier I class, and trains BMP inspectors on the applicable regulations, inspection forms, and enforcement procedures necessary for proper inspection of BMPs. Upon the completion of the Tier II class, a proctored examination is administered, and a minimum passing grade of 70 percent must be made to obtain the DEP qualification certificate shown below.
