The training offers both professionals and the general public fundamental knowledge  of state and local fertiliser regulations.

Successful participants will receive a certification from the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS).

UF GI-BMP – English (ONSITE)

The Green Industries BMP (GI-BMP) class imparts environmentally responsible landscaping practices essential for the protection and conservation of Florida’s ground and surface waters, as well as its natural resources. This training equips professionals and the public with foundational knowledge of state and local fertilizer regulations.

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) awards certifications to students who successfully complete the course.

According to the University of Florida IFAS GI-BMP website:

“Florida law mandates a GI-BMP training certificate for fertilizer applicators to obtain their Limited Fertilizer Applicator Certification (LF license). The certificate is also beneficial for lawn-care, landscape, and pest control workers, landscape designers, government employees, property managers, and more.

The GI-BMP training promotes science-based, environmentally friendly landscaping practices that contribute to the conservation and protection of Florida’s water resources.

Participants must achieve a passing score (75%) to receive a Training Certificate. Both in-person and Zoom classes provide CEUs for FDACS pesticide and fertilizer licenses.”

Requirements and Schedule

Tampa Bay Training excels in delivering In-Person/Onsite training across the State of Florida. A minimum of 15 participants is required to register for the Green Industries Best Management Practices class at your venue. Additionally, we request that you permit interested individuals in the vicinity to join the training at your location.
