This course is designed for CDL drivers participating in an employer's FMCSA drug-and-alcohol testing program. It may also assist:
This course does not prepare a participant to make reasonable-suspicion testing determinations. Designated supervisors should complete the separate Reasonable Suspicion Training for Supervisors of CDL Drivers.

FMCSA requires employers to provide covered drivers with written policy and educational materials containing specified information before the driver begins participating in the testing program. The employer must also maintain the required employee acknowledgment.
TBT's course supports the education process, but the employer remains responsible for:

Successful completion requires full attendance, participation and a passing score on the 25-question multiple-choice examination. Successful participants receive a J. J. Keller certificate.
The certificate documents course completion. It does not replace the employer's policy-distribution acknowledgment or other required testing-program records.
FMCSA does not establish a recurring training interval for driver education. Tampa Bay Training recommends refresher education every two years.
