FSESCI is not self-paced. Online delivery is live and instructor-led. Full attendance, participation, identification, and examination requirements still apply. Review the onsite travel policy and registration policies before booking.

Tier I Installer & Tier II Inspector Curriculum
Tampa Bay Training's complete FSESCI course includes both parts of the official program curriculum. Participants seeking the Qualified Inspector certificate complete the full course and required examination.
Tier I
Stormwater BMP Installer
Tier I focuses on the field practices needed to install and maintain effective stormwater, erosion, and sediment controls.

Tier II
Qualified Stormwater Inspector

What Participants Learn
Explain Site Impacts
Describe how land-disturbing activity, exposed soil, runoff, erosion, sediment, and other pollutants can affect a site and surrounding waters.
Select Appropriate Controls
Relate common BMPs to site conditions, drainage patterns, construction phases, pollutant sources, and the intended control objective.
Evaluate Installation
Recognize proper placement, installation, layering, sequencing, stabilization, and maintenance practices for common controls.
Inspect BMP Performance
Identify damaged, overwhelmed, poorly maintained, incorrectly installed, or ineffective controls and determine when corrective action is needed.
Document Findings
Record site conditions, inspection observations, deficiencies, maintenance needs, and follow-up actions clearly and consistently.
Support Compliance
Connect field observations and BMP responsibilities to the site's applicable permit, stormwater plan, organizational procedures, and regulatory obligations.
Completion and qualification

Successful Completion Requires
- Attendance for the complete required two-day program
- Participation in required course activities and evaluations
- Compliance with identification and examination procedures
- Completion of the approximately one-hour proctored examination
- A final examination score of 70% or higher
Registration does not guarantee qualification.
Late arrival, early departure, extended absence, failure to participate, or failure to earn the required examination score may prevent successful course completion. Tampa Bay Training cannot shorten required instructional time or waive program requirements.
Credential verification: Use the official FSESCI portal for current qualification status, certificate copies, and program information. Do not rely solely on an old course advertisement or printed statement when current proof is required.

Participant Responsibilities
Before Training
- Confirm the dates, times, time zone, and delivery format
- Provide accurate participant information
- Download or obtain the current course manuals as directed
- Request disability-related accommodations as early as practical
- For live online classes, test the required device, camera, audio, and internet connection
During Training
- Attend the entire two-day program
- Arrive or sign in on time
- Remain visible and engaged when required for live-online delivery
- Follow all participation, identification, and exam-security instructions
- Complete the required course evaluation and examination
Professional development records
CEU & PDH Documentation
Continuing Education Units or Professional Development Hours may be available when appropriate for the participant's profession, employer, licensing body, or certification program. Availability and acceptance are not automatic.
- Ask Customer Service what documentation can be provided for the scheduled class.
- Florida professional engineers who request PDH documentation should provide their PE license number.
- Participants are responsible for confirming eligibility and reporting requirements with the applicable board, employer, or credentialing organization.
- Keep the course certificate and supporting records for renewal, audit, or employer documentation.

Can I take the course online?
Yes, when a live-online class is scheduled or arranged privately. Online delivery is instructor-led and must follow the program's distance-learning, participation, identification, and examination procedures.
Is the online course self-paced?
No. Tampa Bay Training does not offer the FSESCI qualification course as self-paced training.
What score is required to earn the certificate?
The Florida program requires a minimum examination score of 70% for the FSESCI Qualified Inspector certificate.
Does attendance alone qualify me as an inspector?
No. Participants must complete the required program and earn the required passing score. Employers and projects may also impose additional requirements.

Can Tampa Bay Training teach a private class for our organization?
Yes. Private onsite and private live-online delivery may be available. Scheduling, facility suitability, class size, travel, and current program requirements must be confirmed before the class is finalized.
How do I confirm whether this course meets my project requirement?
Review the applicable permit, contract, local requirements, employer procedures, and directions from the authority having jurisdiction. Customer Service can explain the course, but the participant or employer must determine which qualification applies to the assigned work.
