FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control Refresher
Renew a current Advanced TTC qualification before it expires through live, instructor-led refresher training.
This course is only for participants whose Advanced qualification remains current. Verify the expiration date before paying or scheduling.

The Refresher renews an existing qualification. It is not an initial course and cannot restore an expired qualification.
Complete the course while eligible
Attend all eight hours, complete required exercises, and take the proctored examination before expiration.
Allow processing time
Official results generally require approximately two to four weeks. Tampa Bay Training does not control the posting date.
No grace period: If the qualification expires before successful refresher completion, the participant must complete the full 20-hour Advanced course again.

Successful completion
Eligibility, attendance, exercises, and examination all matter.
- Hold a current Advanced TTC qualification
- Attend the complete eight-hour course
- Participate in required refresher exercises and activities
- Complete the 60-question proctored written examination
- Earn a score of 70% or higher
- Meet identification and examination-security requirements
If the participant does not pass: The same Refresher course must be retaken before retesting, and eligibility can be lost if the existing qualification expires.

Qualification record and ID
Verify the expiration date, use the participant’s accurate legal name, and provide the requested current qualification documentation and photo identification.
Live-online technology
Online participants need a dependable connection, desktop or laptop, working camera, microphone, speakers, and a suitable testing location.

Advanced Refresher questions
Who is eligible?
Participants must hold a current, unexpired FDOT Advanced TTC qualification and complete the refresher while that qualification remains valid.
What happens if the qualification has expired?
The participant must complete the full 20-hour Advanced course and examination. The Refresher cannot restore an expired qualification.
Can the Refresher be taken online?
Yes. It may be offered through private or open-enrollment live-online training. It is never self-paced.
Are PDH or CEU documents available?
Professional-development documentation may be available for eligible participants but is separate from the FDOT qualification. Confirm acceptance with the applicable employer, board, or authority.
