This 8-hour instructor-led refresher reviews essential FDOT Temporary Traffic Control requirements, current work-zone practices, traffic-control devices, plan interpretation, and the responsibilities of personnel who supervise, inspect, install, maintain, or remove temporary traffic-control devices.
Participants must hold an unexpired FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control qualification on the date the examination is administered. Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the written examination will receive a renewed FDOT qualification valid for four years.

FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control qualifications are valid for a limited period and must be renewed before expiration for a participant to remain eligible for the refresher course.
The refresher course gives experienced professionals an opportunity to revisit critical Temporary Traffic Control principles, review current requirements, strengthen their understanding of work-zone safety, and renew their qualification without repeating the full 16-hour Intermediate course.
Allowing an Intermediate qualification to expire can create additional costs and scheduling difficulties. Once the qualification has expired, the individual may no longer be eligible to take the refresher course and may need to complete the full FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control course again.
Employers should monitor employee qualification dates and schedule refresher training early enough to ensure that the course and examination are completed before expiration.

Open-enrollment refresher classes are ideal for:
Most open-enrollment classes are conducted live online, allowing participants to attend from locations throughout Florida without incurring instructor travel charges.
Select onsite open-enrollment opportunities may also be available when a host organization permits unused seats to be offered to the public.
There is no minimum registration requirement for participants attending a scheduled open-enrollment class.
Because eligibility depends on the expiration date of the participant’s current qualification, participants should register early rather than waiting until the final days before expiration.

This qualification renewal requires participation in an approved instructor-led course and successful completion of the required examination.
